Installation, designed for Symposion Gorinchem 2005, the second edition of the international art event that took place in 1974 in Gorinchem with participation of many art disciplines.
Based on the central theme of Utopia in cooperation with local wood manufacturer JéwéRET a 1000 kilogram weighting wooden object is made, consisting of four thrones facing towards each other.
‘Throne’ is a vision on the ideal society and symbolises (individual) wisdom and truth. A wooden throne with several seats can be reached by anyone, gives space to several opinions and facilitates different forms of truth.
On August 19th 2005 the Symposion was officially opened by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands.

Material: Cambará hardwood (Quarubarana, Brazil)
Finish: oiled
Built from 288 wooden planks (190x27mm) and connected by 32 wooden pins (Ø 35mm)
Location: central hall of the Camphusianum Gymnasium in Gorinchem, the Netherlands.
