Alfred van Elk industrial design is a Dutch design studio with more then 25 years of experience in product and furniture design and a dedicated partner for the creation of innovative and durable product concepts. Alfred van Elk industrial design is consulting companies with the development of both consumer and professional products and can be employed for creative services to define product identity, esthetical design and value in use in a durable way. From the perspective that design represents the relation between a product and its user, a long lasting relationship is aimed for.
Services include: product strategy and identity, research, idea- and concept development, industrial design, product design,
product development, 3D CAD and design detailing.
Unique, client specific product values are developed to match the design with brand content, human needs and product environment. Projects vary from interior products, small domestic appliances and packaging to consumer electronics, project furniture and professional equipment. Results are recognized with more than 25 design awards.
Alfred van Elk successively studied industrial design (with honours) and interior design at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, The Netherlands. He worked as a product designer for several design agencies, such as: Frans de la Haye Design, Philips Design, TNO Science & Industry and WeLL Design. From 2002 to 2007 he was co-founder and partner of studioMOM identity & design.
Alfred van Elk worked for a large variety of clients, among others: ABB, Ahold, Alcatel / Thomson, Aspa, Assenburg, Auping, Bosch & Siemens Hausgeräte, Brink, Bruynzeel, Chanel, Douwe Egberts, Geesa, Heineken, Inventum, Kembo, Océ, Philips, Royal VKB, Sara Lee, Score, Solvay, Tiger, Vitens / WMN, Westomatic and Widget.
Next to his work as an industrial designer, Alfred van Elk is teaching design at the Postgraduate Course Industrial Design of the Royal Academy of Art, the Hague, the Netherlands.
